Energy Balancing is a type of therapeutic approach where the practitioner often use hands-off techniques to release blocked energy from the body. Energy Balancing can also be done on-body when appropriate. One can think of energy balancing, or energy work as releasing 'over charged' areas and helping the clients body to add energy to areas that may be depleted. Prana, Qi and Lifeforce are all ways to refer to our bodies inherent energy and energy fields.

Carl works largely from a humanistic, client-centered perspective that maintains the client as the foremost expert in their own lives. Carl views his counselling role as allowing himself to be a consistently authentic and professional mirror for clients. Through the co-creation of therapeutic relationship, people can begin to deepen understanding of themselves and their relationship with the world.

This deepening of understanding is a central piece of counselling work, whether it be understanding of our past, present, or future. To achieve this, Carl incorporates other modalities into his work such as:

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & Mindfulness

• Hakomi Method

• Solution-Focused Therapy

• Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

• Narrative Therapy

• Art Therapy

• Family Systems

Increasing compassion for self and others, and allowing for more conscious choice (opposed to unconscious reactions or habits) in our lives are other central themes you will encounter when working with Carl. Carl works with people of all ages and backgrounds, including couples. He graduated with distinction from Yorkville University and holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology.
